All Middlesbrough primary schools and some secondary schools use admissions zones (also called catchment areas) as part of their oversubscription criteria.
Living in the admission zone for a school doesn't guarantee that your child will get a place at that school.
If a school uses admission zones as part of their oversubscription criteria, children who live within that admission zone will generally be given higher priority than children who live outside the zone. However, this is not a guarantee of a place in the school. Other children may have a higher priority depending on the school's oversubscription criteria. It also depends on how many other children apply.
You should consider including the school which you're in the admission zone for as one of your school preferences.
