BBQ time

BBQ season is in full swing and the good news is you can recycle loads of your party packaging to help keep Boro green!

Burger boxes, empty bottles and cans, and even the tinfoil you used to keep everything warm, can all be put into the blue lid bin for your next collection day. If you've got some other packaging and you want to check if it can be recycled, visit our recycling directory for more information. If there's an item which isn't listed on there, it's always worth having a look at Recycle Now too.

If you've got leftover food and don't want to throw it away, make sure it's cooled and stored safely. There's always inspiration for what to make with leftovers on Love Food Hate Waste. There's also some fabulous recipe inspiration on the Middlesbrough Environment City website too.

If you're getting rid of your old BBQ, you could take it to the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Haverton Hill. Please remember to book your appointment before you go and bring your ID with you. And remember if you're getting a new one and it comes in a box, that can go in your recycling too!
