Street wardens

Our Street Wardens are endlessly passionate about Middlesbrough.

They provide a reassuring presence to residents, and help to build confidence within neighbourhoods. They can be often found checking on the welfare of residents who are isolated, making a huge difference to our community spirit.

Street Wardens are the eyes and ears of a community, and they work tirelessly with the police and other agencies to make our town a cleaner and safer place to live, work, and enjoy.

The role of a Street Warden is varied, and no two days are the same. They carry out a wide range of roles including:

  • responding to and reporting anti-social behaviour incidents
  • reporting crime to the police
  • issuing fixed penalty notices for litter, graffiti, and dog fouling
  • supporting older and vulnerable people in the area
  • helping the homeless
  • getting involved in neighbourhood activities - visiting schools, attending community and resident meetings, etc.
  • and much, much more...

If you want to report a incident of anti-social behaviour, you can contact our Street Warden team by calling 01642 228500.

The Street Wardens are available seven days a week, from 8am to 10pm.

If you need to call the team outside of these hours, please leave a message and someone will contact you the following day.
