Our Street Wardens are endlessly passionate about Middlesbrough.
They provide a reassuring presence to residents, and help to build confidence within neighbourhoods. They can be often found checking on the welfare of residents who are isolated, making a huge difference to our community spirit.
Street Wardens are the eyes and ears of a community, and they work tirelessly with the police and other agencies to make our town a cleaner and safer place to live, work, and enjoy.
The role of a Street Warden is varied, and no two days are the same. They carry out a wide range of roles including:
- responding to and reporting anti-social behaviour incidents
- reporting crime to the police
- issuing fixed penalty notices for litter, graffiti, and dog fouling
- supporting older and vulnerable people in the area
- helping the homeless
- getting involved in neighbourhood activities - visiting schools, attending community and resident meetings, etc.
