We welcome petitions and recognise that they are a way for people to let us know their concerns. Petitions may be signed by people who live, work or study in Middlesbrough.
If we receive a petition about an issue which we're already consulting with residents about, the petitions scheme will be suspended for that petition.
The petitions scheme will not consider a petition in relation to any matter relating to planning or licensing matters.
To find out more about making a representation (comment) about a planning decision, email planning@middlesbrough.gov.uk, or to comment or object to a planning application visit the Citizen Portal Planning website.
Please note, planning will not take any comments into account that aren't made directly to planning in relation to the application. Any comments made in advance of the planning application being submitted, before people can view plans and understand the scheme, will not be considered.
To find out more about making a representation (comment) against a licensing application, please contact the Licensing team by email to licensing@middlesbrough.gov.uk.
Our petitions scheme sets out how petitions can be submitted and explains how we will deal with them. A brief summary is given below
