It's normal to have questions about your birth family when you're growing up. Your new family will be able to tell you some things about them, but they might not know everything. Your life story book will have nice stories and photos of your birth family to help you feel like you know them better.
It's okay to wonder who your birth family were and what they were like, so don't worry – you're not being disloyal to your new family if you want to find out more.
Sometimes children can't live with their birth families because something bad happened at home. It can be confusing and upsetting when you find out what that was. When you're old enough, you'll be able to find out more about why you couldn't stay with your birth family from your social worker.
