The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 replaced a number of pieces of legislation including animal boarding, dog breeding, pet shops, and day care. There is now a single licence for a number of animal licensing activities:
- selling animals as pets
- boarding of cats or dogs
- hiring of horses
- breeding dogs
- keeping or training animals for exhibition
There is a fee to pay for each licence, and additional veterinary charges may apply.
Please contact the Public Protection Service by calling 01642 726001 or email EHTS@middlesbrough.gov.uk for more information on the licensing requirements or to request a license application pack.
