The 'getting ready for an age-friendly Middlesbrough' training looks at the principles which support people to age better, and to live healthy and active lives in their communities. It's delivered by Public Health South Tees, in partnership with Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland, and Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind.

The training covers:

- research and data on the older population in Middlesbrough
- the physical and psychological aspects of ageing, as well as the implications for our town and its services and businesses, highlighted through local case studies
- suggestions of how to help older people to age better in our community, including support around:
- mental health
- sight and hearing loss
- chronic disease
- dementia
- mobility
- the effects of medication
The training session is interactive, and we welcome the views of participants.
